This is the 1924 film “Hot Water,” starring Harold Lloyd.

For Monday, we have a mystery woman.

And for Tuesday, we have this mystery matron.
Please congratulate Mary Mallory (mystery movie AND filming location), Harriedcostumer (mystery movie and cast) and Mike Hawks (mystery movie and cast).

And for Wednesday, we have a mystery truck driver.
Please congratulate Mary Mallory (Tuesday’s mystery matron), Ann Papineau (Monday’s and Tuesday’s mystery women) and Dan Nather (Monday’s mystery woman and the mystery leading man — but the wrong film).

For Thursday, we have an unfortunate encounter between an automobile and a streetcar….

An unhappy mystery lad….

And this surprised mystery gent in a high collar.
Please congratulate Anne Papineau (mystery movie and star), Mary Mallory with an added fact, brutii (right star, wrong movie), Mike Hawks (Tuesday’s mystery woman) and Dan Nather (mystery movie and mystery matron).

And for Friday, it all becomes clear with this non-mystery gent.
Please congratulate Mary Mallory (Thursday’s mystery guests), Mike Hawks (Thursday’s mystery lad) and ValleyDave (Mystery movie and mystery folks).

Josephine Crowell. I love it when people identify invisible people in photos. Are they afraid they’ll miss someone the rest of the week? Want to show off? It’s unneeded.

Monday’s mystery woman is Jobyna Ralston, which leads me to think this is a Harold Lloyd movie — FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE, perhaps?

Is this “Hot Water” … Harold Lloyd, 1924?

Well, here’s something people don’t know: the second time Lloyd gets the traffic ticket, you see the signature, “Gene Kornman.” Kornman was his stills photographer.

Watched some more Harold Lloyd movies recently – no wonder the first and third folks looked familiar! It’s from “Speedy” I believe.

Okay, if it’s not FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE, it’s HOT WATER. That means the mystery matron would be Josephine Crowell.

No, I was hoping someone in the Brain Trust would recognize him.

The picture of Harold Lloyd reminded me: I think Mary Mallory should do a piece on the “Spider Pool” in the Hollywood Hills and the associated mansion. It was a favorite haunt of Harold Lloyd in his later years and frequent backdrop for his, er, artistic photographic endeavors. It, and the photos, were fairly infamous during my college years. Somebody visited the ruins of the place in 2008: http://laist.com/2008/04/19/every_city_has.php
