    The “Outing Tragedy – Ten Feared Drowned in River” was the six boys and four adults who were swept away by the overflowing Sespe Creek in Ventura County during the January 1969 torrential rains. An account of this incident can be read in the January 2008 issue of Outside Magazine (which was nearly 40 years later). I’m unable to post a link to it here, but I think it can be found at “Outside Online”.
