This week’s mystery movie was “Black Angel,” as requested by B.J. Merholz. Thanks, B.J. And if you have a mystery movie request, email me here.

This week’s mystery movie was the suggestion of B.J. Merholz…. Here is Monday’s mystery gent.

And for Tuesday, we have this mystery lady.

Monday’s mystery fellow has a mystery visitor!
Please congratulate Dewey Webb (mystery movie and cast), Jenny M (mystery woman), Don Danard (half credit on mystery woman), Rick (mystery woman), Megan Lee Ann and Thom (mystery movie and cast) and Bob Hansen.

And for Thursday, a natty mystery gent in a bow tie. (Just as you requested, B.J.)
Please congratulate Jenny M (mystery movie and cast), Rick (mystery movie and cast), Megan, Lee Ann and Thom (mystery woman), LC (mystery movie and cast), Mike Hawks (mystery movie and cast), Don Danard (Tuesday’s mystery woman), Mandy Marie (mystery movie and cast — Mandy also recommends the radio version of the film), Bob Hansen (mystery movie and cast) and Patrick (mystery movie and cast).
Bob says: Now I remember. It’s XXXX (by XXXXX). I think Wednesday’s woman’s name is XXXXX. I prefer to guess these from memory even though I could just look at IMDB. Oh and XXXXX was the lead in it.

And for Friday, just as you expected, our leading man pays a call on Tuesday’s mystery woman.
Please congratulate Patrick (mystery movie and cast), Michael Ryerson (mystery movie and cast), Mike Hawks (Thursday’s mystery guest) and Mary Mallory (mystery movie and cast).
Michael Ryerson says: Somebody asked for a shot of XXXX in a tuxedo? That’s a pretty highly refined taste in noirish minutiae.
While B.J. observes: Great shot of a great guy. A screen natural, several movies benefited from his strength and authenticity.

I believe this is Constance Dowling, so I’m guessing the movie is “Black Angel”. A nifty little thriller with June Vincent as the leading lady–she’s usually the female heavy. She also gets to sing in this and she’s pretty good.

The mystery visitor is June Vincent. I’m hoping this is film is the adaptation of master storyteller Cornell Woolrich’s book, The Black Angel (1946). It’s an amazing film and great radio play.

Monday = John Phillips, Tuesday = Constance Dowling and Wednesday features the return of John Phillips as Back of the Head Guy having a less than conjugal visit with June Vincent. The film is “Black Angel” from 1946.

Probably the bow tie! But no. I don’t think Hef would have lasted one round with this guy.

Working backwards, today we’ve got real-life tough guy and sometime actor Freddie Steele, yesterday June Vincent chatting with John Phillips, Tuesday one of my favorites Constance Dowling, such a good-looking girl and Monday John Phillips. Making this Black Angel (1946) with Dan Duryea (playing against type here), Peter Lorre, Broderick Crawford and Wallace Ford.
