I wanted to honor the late Bob Newhart, but most of his appearances are quite well-known, with numerous images online. Solution? An episode of Insight, which Howard Mandelbaum and I have discussed from time to time. Newhart made another episode, but it’s a two-character drama from 1979 with Jack Klugman, The Rebirth of Packy Rowe, in which Newhart plays God. Interesting, but impossible to stretch over a week! Happy Birthday Marvin is a pleasant show on a par with any sitcom of the era. Bob Newhart plays exactly the same character from his other TV shows, so it’s not a stretch in terms of acting.

  9. This is Clint Howard during his “Gentle Ben” period, so I’m guessing it’s either from an episode of the show or the episode-compilation movie, “Gentle Giant.”

Clint Howard (Mon), Ivor Francis (Tue), and Harold Gould (Wed) in Happy Birthday, Marvin, an episode of “Insight” that aired on April 10, 1973. So, I’m guessing Anne Francis and the recently departed Bob Newhart for Thu and Fri.
