I picked The Lawless Nineties by going through the trades after striking out with a movie that got excellent reviews at the time but did not age well and another movie for which some superfan had uploaded dozens of screen caps from the film. It’s a pretty good Western, with lots of fine opportunities for mystery folks, including George “Gabby” Hayes out of his raggedy sidekick outfit.

I’m going to guess that The New York Times ignored it.

In fact it was reviewed by Bosley Crowther during his days as an alphabet critic (June 29, 1936):

The thinness of Wyoming’s population to this very day perhaps may be due in part to the number of strong men who bit the dust, according to The Lawless Nineties, at the Rialto, when the virgin territory was struggling for statehood against outlaws and obstructionist politicians. it was probably a less violent, less wholesale civil war in historical fact, and certainly it was less picturesque, less cleverly staged and far more humdrum than the Rialto’s latest offering in a special field which might be termed non-pedestrian horse opera.

I think that Monday’s mysterious woman might be Etta McDaniel. If it’s Ms Etta, maybe the movie is “The Prisoner of Shark Island” 1936, continuing with the “Civil War” elements as in last week’s movie mystery. All just a guess though.

Wednesday – George “Gabby” Hayes (I think)

Pretty sure that the movie is right. I noticed it when I first started my “Etta” films list. Forget why I talked myself out of it.
