Movieland Mystery Photo (Updated + + +)

Man with wide lapels and bow tie.
For Monday, we have a mysterious fellow. Back of the Head Guy has been cropped out due to insufficient mysteriousness and will appear later in the week.

Update: For Friday, here’s Back of the Head Guy.

Two Back of the Head Women. One is standing. She's in a dark dress and one shoulder is higher than the other. The second woman is sitting and is wearing a light-colored blouse.
For “tricky Tuesday,” we have two Back of the Head Women, which may be a record for Back of the Head Persons!

Brain Trust roll call: Howard Mandelbaum (mystery movie, Monday’s mystery fellow and Back of the Head Guy cropped out due to insufficient mysteriousness).

I think Tuesday’s pic clicked somewhere in my visual memory – Is this Olivia and her double in 1946’s The Dark Mirror? The hairstyles, clothing, and particularly the drab and dark interior look very much from that movie. And that means that Monday’s photo is of Lester Allen.

I don’t know who Wednesday’s mystery fellow is, but I just had to point out that the lapels on his pinstriped suit are as wide as the brim of his hat!

The feeling I got on Tuesday was that maybe this was one of those ‘evil twin’ movies – but had no real guess. Wednesday, still had no idea. Aha Thursday comes and my way into the film arrives! Woohoo!

    “The Dark Mirror” 1946
Monday – Lester Allen, I think
Tuesday – Olivia de Havilland is one of the BOTHW. If IMDb is right, Amelita Ward is the BOTHW twin. She’s listed (uncredited) as “photo double” in the ‘Other Crew’ category.
    Wednesday – Gary Owen
    Thursday – Richard Long
Friday will bring a frontal shot of Ms de Havilland, Lew Ayers and Thomas Mitchell
