Black Dahlia: Seriously, People? I Mean Really?

Dahlia T-Shirt EBay

This item is listed on EBay. I’m going to report it. EBay usually ignores me because anything goes on EBay. But even so I’ll give it a try.

Jesus. Every famous modern-day murder attracts its share of weirdos, but nothing tops the creeps you’ll find among the Dahlia groupies.

I made an informal study of the #TrueCrime hashtag on Instagram a few years ago, which was most illuminating.

The biggest fan base by far belonged to the Columbine kids. People have taken security camera footage and done music remixes. Next are probably Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. Then Richard Ramirez. I haven’t checked recently, so I don’t know if “Once Upon a Time in the West” has given the Manson family a push, but they were pretty far down the line. They were followed by the Unabomber (very little interest) and the Dahlia freaks. So if you think the Black Dahlia folks are weird, check out the Columbine fans sometime. Or the Ted Bundy groupies. They are really bizarre.

How miserable would a person’s childhood had to be for them to want to walk around with that picture on their chest?
