McGuire was identified by Patricia van Hartesveldt, Roget-L.A., Bob Levinson, Ed, Floyd Thursby and Gary Martin.
No one identified the silent film used in the movie, which imdb says is D.W. Griffith’s “The Sand of Dee.”

Certainly a much later era attempting to re-create the early silent movie-going experience. My random guess is the underrated, ‘Nickelodeon’ from the mid-seventies.

Just guessing …the couple in the lower right is Kay Francis and Leslie Howard…so the film is British Agent, 1934. On the screen it must be Orphans of the Storm ..the scene where the young girl is turned out.
