June 5, 1960: Cheryl Crane and two other inmates escape from El Retiro School for Girls, where she had been committed for killing Johnny Stompanato. "This was a big change from the meek and mild little girl who came in here on a homicide rap," Beverly Hills Police Chief Clinton H. Anderson says. "She's very defiant, antisocial and a nonconformist. It looks like she led the other girls out." |

Flash forward about fifteen years, and Cheryl Crane comes out of the closet as a lesbian.
How very interesting. One could almost connect the dots and predict the outcome.
It could not have been easy being Lana Turner’s daughter.

Cheryl came to my school after this, (Santa Monica High School), and was in my
P.E. class. She was very withdrawn and a wall flower. I felt sorry for her, so I
asked her to be on our Volley Ball team. She was good! Tall too! She was not
there long, as all the whispering and talk was so hard on her. I hope she is O.K.
today!
