South Pasadena Junior High Principal Verlin Spencer kills four school officials and wounds two others before shooting himself when he’s cornered at the junior high. One victim subsequently died and another was paralyzed. Spencer, who survived his attempted suicide, was paroled in 1970 after being sentenced to five life terms.
