E Gad Gazooks. After a suffering from Jimmy Fidler’s ramblings I almost wish for a Hedda Hopper column. Well, almost. As in not hardly. But Fidler is hard to take.

Fidler had a network radio show that survived into the mid-fifties, I believe. His voice was even more irritating than his column.
But did learn something surprising from the above. Cecil Kellaway, that wonderfully sweet character actor, was Australian. Who knew? BTW: Kellaway’s performance in the original ‘Postman…’ made the story unfold even more darkly than the dark remake. Kellaway’s Nick, expressed a mismatched love for Cora, but love nonetheless. When he is killed, his gentleness hangs over the rest of the picture as a really ugly crime.
PS: Just Googled Kellaway to find out he was South African and not Australian. So much for Fidler’s facts.
