Above, The Times not only identified a woman who says she was the victim of an attack (notice how we tiptoe around the word "rape"), we even ran her picture. Even though I knew newspapers used to do identify rape victims, it’s quite another thing to actually see one of the stories in print.  Aggie Underwood once complained of being sent out something like five weeks in a row to interview rape victims. Unfortunately, we never followed up on the story so there’s no further information. Below, a father is in jail on charges of whipping his daughter … Good grief, was there really a state commission for the protection of children and animals? …  Austria descends into civil unrest, especially in Graz, the hometown of our future governor, with rioting and violence against Jews  …     On the jump, Florsheim shoes, as worn by Jake Gittes in "Chinatown."
