Parking lot security guard with episode title: The Color of Murder.
This week’s mysterious show was a 1971 episode from Season 4 of the TV series Mannix titled The Color of Murder, featuring the late Diane Keaton. Most of her films are well known and lack sufficient mysteriousness, so I went back to her early TV work for a tribute. She was in an interesting segment of Rod Serling’s Night Gallery, but it’s a two-character drama and impossible to stretch over five days. I was a big fan of Mike Connors’ earlier series Tightrope, but missed Mannix, as I was mostly without a TV from 1968 to 1978.

Man in coat and tie on TV screen
For Monday, we have a mysterious person.

For Tuesday, we have a mysterious woman.

Update: This is Virginia Gregg.

For “Aha Thursday,” we have a mysterious fellow.

Update: This is Johnny Haymer.

Two men in suits, both have mustaches.
And two more mysterious fellows.

Update: This is John Lupton, left, and Ward Wood.

Woman with long blond hair in a black sweater
Plus a mysterious woman.

Update: This is Karen Ericson.

For Friday, we have a mysterious fellow.

Woman with revolver.
And finally, a mysterious woman with … a gun?

Update: This is Diane Keaton.

Brain Trust roll call: Benito (mystery show, Wednesday’s mysterious woman and Friday’s mystery woman), Sylvia (Monday’s mystery guest, and Thursday’s and Friday’s mysterious guests and Monday’s mystery guest), Strangerwarm (mysterious show, Wednesday’s mystery woman and Friday’s mystery woman) and Mike Hawks (Thursday’s mysterious man No. 2)

Tuesday is Virginia Gregg. Love her! This is the Mannix episode “The Color of Murder” and I’m watching it right now, still don’t know who Monday Man is but I’m going to find out. Good episode so far, I should have watched more Mannix reruns than I did.

Is this a TV show? Tuesday looks like Virginia Gregg. Grew up watching her. She was in so many things I’ve no clue. Monday reminds me of Friedrich von Ledebur but, nah, the mouth is off.

Thursday – Johnny Haymer, John Lupton, Ward Wood and Karen Ericson. That leaves Mike Connors and Diane Keaton for Friday. This was a fun one and a nice salute to Ms Keaton.

Keep searching for Monday’s guy. IMDb says the ‘Announcer’ credit goes to Bill Baldwin, but Monday’s guy doesn’t look anything like the Bill Baldwin I’ve seen in other shows. And he’s certainly not Alec Baldwin’s brother. Will look forward to your Saturday breakdown and finding out who he is.

Okay – my last shot at Monday’s guy. I think he’s Anthony Redondo (not listed as the ‘announcer’ in the credits, but as ‘Otto Conrad’, so maybe he’s on Monday’s TV screen for some other reason.) Found a sprinkling of images of Mr Redondo that sure resemble Monday’s guy and the age seems to fit better than everyone else. Looking forward to your reveal.

Friday – Mike Connors and Diane Keaton

Had to laugh at my fogginess on Monday’s guy. It didn’t dawn on me until AFTER I sent in my Anthony Redondo guess yesterday that his character and Keaton’s have the same last name, so of course his character would be her character’s deceased father, as per the storyline. DUH!

    Anyway this was fun.

Oh dang, now I realize Anthony Redondo was supposed to be the murder victim! For some reason I thought the news footage was showing us the victim at the crime scene followed by someone talking at a press conference, but it was the victim before he was, uh, a victim.
