I picked Service With the Colors because it was on the same DVD as last week’s Come to the Stable and it fit with Pearl Harbor Day. It’s the story of a young malcontent (William Orr) who enlists but then resents everything about Army life before redeeming himself at the end.

For Monday, we have a mystery guest. His companions have been cropped out due to insufficient mysteriousness and will appear later.
For Tuesday, Monday’s mysterious fellow has a mystery companion, Top of the Head Guy (a.k.a. Digging for Mustard Guy).
For Friday, adding a mysterious sergeant.
Update: This is, from left, Robert Armstrong, George Haywood and Herbert Anderson.

For Tuesday, Monday’s mystery fellow has a mysterious companion. The rest of the group has been cropped out due to insufficient mysteriousness and will appear later.
Update: For “Aha Thursday,” we have another mysterious recruit.
For Friday, adding a fourth mysterious recruit.
Update: This is, from left, George Haywood, Herbert Anderson, William Lundigan and William Orr.

For “Hm Wednesday,” we have a mysterious fellow rocking his Sam Browne belt.
Update: This is Henry O’Neill.
Brain Trust roll call: Jenny M. (mystery movie and both mystery guests), Howard Mandelbaum (mystery movie, mystery guests and mystery guests cropped out due to insufficient mysteriousness), Richard Wegescheide (Tuesday’s mysterious future sitcom star), Incredibleinman (mystery movie and Tuesday’s mysterious future sitcom star), Mike Hawks (mystery movie and both mystery guests) and Benito (Tuesday’s future sitcom star).
Sylvia and Richard: You’re on the right track!

For “Aha Thursday,” we have a mysterious lieutenant.
Update: This is John Ridgley.

We also have this mysterious fellow.
Update: This is William Lundigan.
Brain Trust roll call: Mary Mallory (Wednesday’s mysterious colonel), Howard Mandelbaum (Wednesday’s mysterious colonel), L.C. (mystery movie and mysterious cast), Sylvia E. (mystery movie, Tuesday’s future sitcom star and Wednesday’s mysterious colonel), Greg (Tuesday’s mysterious future sitcom star and Wednesday’s mystery colonel), Mike Hawks (Wednesday’s mystery colonel), B.J. Merholz (mystery movie and Wednesday’s mysterious colonel), Anne Papineau (mystery movie and all mystery guests) and Megan and Thom (Wednesday’s mysterious colonel).

For Friday, we have a kindly, lovable mystery sergeant and a recruit who does not approve of Army life.
Update: This is Robert Armstrong, left, and William Orr.
Brain Trust roll call: Anne Papineau (Thursday’s mystery guests), Sylvia E. (mysterious lieutenant and mysterious recruit), Mike Hawks (Thursday’s mystery guests), Mary Mallory (mystery movie and all mystery guests) and Megan and Thom (mystery movie and all mystery guests).
Hmm. Green beans, ketchup, and World War II-era Army uniforms. Possibly a very young Robert Stack?

Herbert Anderson on the right both days. Definitely early WW2 era movie, maybe one the short subject pics that were common then.

Herbert Anderson is one of the fellows today. Could this be the short “Service with the Colors”?

This looks like one of those films done in the 1940s to encourage young men to sign up for the military, almost like a training film rather than a feature. I’m sure that it is not, though. Just on the low-budget side of things.
Interesting interchange between skretvedt1958 and you. I see why they picked Mr. Stack. Putting on my own thinking cap.

“Service with the Colors” 1940 seems to fit.
Henry O’Neill is in it and I think one of young men swearing in on Tuesday looks like Herbert Anderson (sans eyeglasses) who’s also in the film.

The only thing that I’m sure about this week is that Wednesday’s colonel is Henry O’neill. Monday and Tuesday’s recruits are a little foggier but the guy on the right in both photos resembles Dennis the Menace’s father, Herbert Anderson and the GI on the left sorta looks like William T. Orr. I won’t be crushed if I’m incorrect.

I think William Lundigan is in image 2. He’d also be the “cropped out for lack of mysteriousness” guy from Tuesday.
Maybe William T. Orr is Monday’s FG guy and the screen left guy from Tuesday?
Leaves Robert Armstrong for Friday.
I’m curious to finally know who Monday’s “mustard guy” is. George Haywood and Mike Donovan don’t have a huge amount of credits or reference photos, so maybe it’s one of them.
