Every so often I get a request for a western and I figured it was time. A Day of Fury is an “adult” western of the 1950s with Dale Robertson, who would soon gain fame in TV’s Tales of Wells Fargo, playing a villain. Robertson appeared in three episodes of Tales of Wells Fargo with his A Day of Fury co-star John Dehner! Then again, Dehner appeared in nearly every TV series of the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Co-star Mara Corday also appeared in Tales of Wells Fargo.

I’m guessing The New York Times didn’t bother with A Day of Fury, or if it did, fobbed it off on one of the “alphabet critics.”

No, The New York Times did not review A Day of Fury, which was relegated to the second half of a double bill with All That Heaven Allows. (And, yes, Bosley Crowther did not approve of All That Heaven Allows).

Older man in vest, playing upright piano.

For Monday, we have a mysterious piano player. Please don’t shoot him!

This mysterious piano player is, alas, unidentified. But he was apparently a real musician because he plays the piano rather than faking it.

Here he is in a mysterious trio with a mysterious guitarist and mystery accordion player. The chanteuse is Dani Crayne.

Guess my comment didn’t get thru to you on Wednesday. No guess anyway, just blathering about the BOTHG and his hair-do.

But my wish for an “Ah-ha” moment came true today! I’m pretty sure that Thursday’s guy #2 is John Dehner sans his usual “..’stache”. Sooooo many movies to choose from. I’ll be back.
