The Beloved Brat has apparently never been commercially released. It last aired on TCM in 2020.

The Beloved Brat
was reviewed in the New York Times (May 2, 1938) by Benjamin R. Crisler, writing as B.R.C. And he did not approve of such goings-on.

The Strand’s Beloved Brat, which is all about a problem child and her problem parents, is incidentally something of a problem picture. On the serious side, it would appear to be of limited value (a girl whose parents have too much money to be able to bring her up properly belongs to a rather specialized social group) despite the basic importance of the matter under discussion. On the other hand, as a comical study in adolescent feminine tantrums, brought on parental neglect and selfishness, it is rather regrettably in the custard pie tradition.

This movie is much older than I thought at first. And one of the storylines is ahead of its time.

    “The Beloved Brat” 1938
Mon – Meredith White (whose movie brother appears on Wednesday)
Tues – Bernice Pilot (movie mother of Meredith and Wednesday’s kid – Matthew Beard)
Weds – Leo Gorcey and Matthew ‘Stymie’ Beard (said movie son and brother of the family above.) Meredith White is in the image too, but out of focus.

Looking forward to your breakdown on this one.
