I enjoy starting out my day reading your posts about a period of time that was much less complex that it is now. My dad was 19 when he left his hometown of Pendleton, Oregon to move to LA in August of 1929 and entered the newspaper business as a sports writer. A few months later, the Stock Market crashed and he and my mother had to endure the depression. However, the 40s and 50s in LA provided a period of time when people could afford a house in LA and life was much simpler and enjoyable.

I enjoy reading your posts each morning because it is such a relief from reading the vitriolic news put out by the media each day. I grew up in the 50s and cherish my childhood memories when LA offered a better quality of life than it does now. That was a period of time when housing was affordable.
