It was written by Leopold Atlas and John C. Higgins, from a story by Arnold B. Armstrong and Audrey Ashley. It was photographed by John Alton and directed by Anthony Mann.

Flat out, I don’t know him. But I must comment on the composition, lighting, and set design. All are pure film noir. One doesn’t need dialogue or action to understand the mood and tone of the film. Pitch perfect!
