For Tuesday, we have this mystery chap with a stylish monocle. Our mystery leading man has been cropped out because he’s too recognizable.

This is Claude Allister.

Please congratulate Mary Mallory, Mike Hawks and Floyd Thursby for identifying Tuesday’s mystery chap. I’ll give Don Danard half-credit for identifying Monday’s mystery gent.

Please tell me he’s Marty Martyn. I saw this today on the Today Show and it makes you step back a bit. It’s a vintage Hollywood story that’s right up both of our alleys. In case you missed it: http://www.today.com/news/return-life-how-some-children-have-memories-reincarnation-2D80550946

I love the newspapers in films. A still really allows the person to check out the elements around the headline the eye is designed to highlight. I assume today’s gentleman is integral to the plot of this week’s mystery film. I don’t know who it is, but I’m intrigued.

Hmmm . . . That’s Claud Allister, the greatest of the silly-ass English actors, in Tuesday’s photo, and Boris Karloff at the right in today’s photo. That means the film is the 1931 First National opus I LIKE YOUR NERVE, starring Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Loretta Young, and the other gent in today’s photo is Henry Kolker. Still can’t place the head shot from Monday (Edmund Breon?).
