Life Magazine was a great resource to get a snapshot of the WWII era. “Political Correctness” was not much of a consideration in those days. We just heard a recent statistic that only 40% of the US populace today knows that the U.S. was engaged in a deadly war with Japan.

Thanks for scanning in these old issues of “Life” magazine. I grew up with the magazine and had a huge collection of them until it was time to downsize. And, don’t forget, the 2nd World War started in 1939. Sure, 1941 for the USA, but it had been going on for the Brits and the Canadians since ’39.

Hi, I particularly liked the cartoons by Peter Helmers. Other than his roles like Son of Lassie, google draws a blank on his artistic career. I wonder if he had any other cartoons published?
