And for Monday, we have a mystery switchboard operator.

And here’s a mystery gent for Tuesday. I’m not sure how Dan Nather identified our mystery film and actress based on yesterday’s picture, but he did. Congratulations!

And here’s a mystery woman for Wednesday.

Please congratulate Don Danard and Dan Nather for identifying yesterday’s mystery fellow.

Obviously, this is only a movie.

Please congratulate Mike Hawks for identifying our mystery film and cast! And congratulate Don Danard for identifying Wednesday’s mystery gal!

And here’s a very muddy mystery gent for Friday.

Please congratulate Mary Mallory and Don Danard for identifying our mystery movie and cast, and Dan Nather for identifying Wednesday’s mystery gal. Keith Thursby says of yesterday’s photo: “Well, we know it’s not a documentary.”

Think you are throwing us a curve to make us look in an earlier era than the picture actually is from. My guess is that she is Julie Kavner, and the film is Woody Allen’s wonderful, ‘Radio Days’.

Without a doubt, the movie is ELMER THE GREAT. But I had to go to the IMDb to look up the actress, who seems to be Donna Mae Roberts.

Gary: “The Sting” is in color. I don’t manipulate the photos (i.e. convert color to black and white) to make them more difficult. What you see is what’s on the screen. But yes, he looks a lot like Durning. Separated at birth?

Is this ELMER THE GREAT, with Donna Mae Roberts the operator and Patricia Ellis yesterday?

  15. Don Danard's avatar Don Danard says:

Well, the combination of Ms. Ellis, Mr. Wilson and the Ball Score, I’d say the film is “Elmer, the Great” with Joe E. Brown. And, I peeked at the cast list to see that the Switchboard Operator is Donna Mae Roberts, a performer I’ve never heard of.
