Here’s today’s mystery photo, courtesy of Steven Bibb!
[Update: This is Linda Ware, who was billed as the next Deanna Durbin. The fellow imitating President Roosevelt is R.D. Parker, who was elected Chief Grouch of 1939 by the Grouch Club. The Grouch Club was a 1930s radio program created by Jack Lescoulie that aired on KFWB].
Looks like Pete Smith but probably isn’t

I dunno, but it sure looks like Franklin Delano Roosevelt enjoying a night out with a girlfriend at the Hollywood Bowl.

Any mystery photo that no one guesses is not legitimate. If you, Larry, haven’t heard of the people, don’t give them to us, please.

@Julie: I am always impressed with the knowledge of the Brain Trust, all of whom know more than I do. 🙂
Believe it or not, I never recognize any of these people — whether it’s Jack Mulhall or Betty Compson or Trixie Friganza or Julian Eltinge or Creighton Hale — or Linda Ware. Except for Everett Sloan and Gardner McKay and the much-hated two-week binge of Lucille Ball, I didn’t know any of these folks. That’s how I select them.
Remember that although the mystery photos may seem like a really hard trivia contest, they’re actually a continuing photo essay on the ephemeral nature of fame.
