Feb. 7, 1941: Tom Treanor says that he put on five or 10 pounds while he was in Europe and explains the food situation. “In every country I visited except Spain you really banqueted most of the time. I remember for almost a week in Yugoslavia, at Lake Bled, dining as if it were Coronado or Palm Springs,” he says.
