    How do I find answer to your mystery photo? You congratulate those who do, but don’t then identify person in photo. By the way, who were the two dancers-Adele and Fred Astaire or Gower Champion and his sister or?

    Of course, the still is from “the Bride of Frankenstein.” Don’t remember who the cinematographer was, but the Monster is Karloff (as he was billed). I snicker seeing James Curtis’ name among the correct guessers as he wrote a superb book on the mystery guest. He’d better know!!

    James Whale and Boris Karloff on FRANKENSTEIN. I wish I had known about this earlier, don’t like to get in late to the party.
    Tell Anna to read the blog, the Bemises names were listed under their photos.

    It’s director James Whale, and the photo with the Frankenstein monster looks to be a production still from “Bride of Frankenstein,” thanks to the monster’s singed hair and even rattier-than-usual suit coat. (Then again, the monster never did wear clothes well.)
    I really enjoy these mystery photos, even during weeks (like last week) where the subjects are impossible to guess!

    I just noticed the man under the camera looking at the monster through a blue glass. I think the folks in the second photo are Boris Karloff, James Whale and probably cinematographer John J. Mescall.
