Dec. 4, 1941, Hedda Hopper

  1. Angus says:

I was pleased to see, buried down in Hopper’s column, a reference to Fred Banker, her former leg-man and assistant. Following Army service Fred had a long and interesting career in journalism, publicity and public relations.
Twenty-five years after this 1941 item, Fred and his wife Frances were extremely kind and generous to an ill-educated, half-baked midwesterner, newly arrived in Los Angeles (me.) All these years later I remember them both with affection and thanks.
