Walter Collins in an undated prison photo.
August 28, 1932: Christine Collins replies to the warden, saying that she is not yet ready to visit the grave of her husband, Walter, in the prison cemetery. She also says she is changing her name to Kathleen, “so as people will not be continually bringing up the terrible tragedy which I have experienced,” referring to the incident that inspired Clint Eastwood’s film Changeling.

I would like to show appreciation for sharing these documents with the public as you have. This subject has given me much curiosity. Though, I was slightly confused with the undated prison photo of Walter J. Collins. My fault not being able to recognize that the photo was of Walter J. Collins Sr.
thank you again, it has been a great help to a current issue paper I am working on.
