    Thanks for posting this. I guess it’s easy to find brush fire reportage from SoCal in the summer through recorded history. What I found fascinating is the report of the US’ massive H-bomb test, right next to the US refusing a Soviet offer for a treaty.
    (And I realize that’s OT for “LA’s Crime and Cops”, but it’s still interesting.)
    –I have only touched on the atomic tests conducted in Nevada in the summer of 1957. In one test, the bomb didn’t go off and a couple of men had to climb up the tower and disarm it. And yes, they survived.
