Speaking of Raymond Chandler, Doyle Auctions is offering material from the the Jean Vounder-Davis Collection of Raymond Chandler to be sold Friday (Dec. 6).
Items include various early editions of Chandler’s books, scattered letters, his scarf, volumes from his personal library, books inscribed between Chandler and Cissy Chandler, poems, fan mail and scripts.

The item getting the most attention is Chandler’s Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter featuring a keyboard that includes foreign accent marks, with an estimated sale price of $10,000 to $20,000.
Other items from the collection of Jean Vounder-Davis (Chandler’s secretary and fiancee) were offered by Sotheby’s in 2011.
