And I read some “fan mail.” Update: The fellow who said he would never contact me again has (surprise!) contacted me again.

The websites I discussed were:

BethShort.com (defunct, available on the Wayback Machine), listed at $6,099 on Go Daddy.

JohnGilmore.com (defunct, available on the Wayback Machine), starting price of $5,000 on Go Daddy.

BlackDahliaSolutionInfoWhatever com/org/edu (defunct, now apparently a platform for malware, which is why I’m not giving the URL). Note: I wrongly say the site was operated by Ron Kohne. He was John Kohne, who used the alias Jack Pico and bombarded me with mail from a mail drop in San Diego.

Kohne was the first to claim that there were “hidden messages” in the mail sent to the police and the newspapers in the Black Dahlia case. Kohne was also the first to claim that Elizabeth Short’s body was left on Norton Avenue as a “pointer” to Degnan Boulevard, thus linking the Black Dahlia murder to that of Suzanne Degnan in 1946. And if that sounds familiar, it’s because Steve Hodel stole all of it and presented it as his own “discovery.”

Questions were:
–Was Elizabeth Short a “drug mule?”
–Did a doctor ever say that he treated Elizabeth Short? The story of Dr. Arthur Faught and Dr. Schwartz.
–What became of Mark Hansen and the Florentine Gardens after the murder of Elizabeth Short?
–Did the “Avenger” move to Oakland to the Bay Area in the 1950s and continue killing?
–Did police interview Virginia (Short) West?
–Was Leo Hymes (Anne Toth’s boyfriend) a crook? Did Elizabeth Short know she was hanging out with some pretty sketchy men?
–Were the men photographed sitting with Elizabeth Short near some palm trees ever identified and interviewed?
–Did Dr. Partyka ever comment to the newspapers about what secret Walter Bayley may have had?
–What became of Dr. Partyka after her time with Dr. Bayley?
