As a few a people realized, One More Tomorrow is a remake of the previous mystery movie The Animal Kingdom, both based on the Broadway play.
Because it’s based on a play I’m going to guess that Bosley Crowther liked it with the usual Bosley quibbles.
Uh-oh. It’s one of the alphabet critics (TMP – possibly Thomas M. Pryor) and he hated it because, of course, the Broadway stage is far superior to the humble medium of film. (The New York Times, May 25, 1946):
It took four of the Warner’s best script writers to rewrite the Philip Barry play The Animal Kingdom into the motion picture called One More Tomorrow, which opened yesterday at the Strand. Yet out of all this effort on the part of the Epstein Brothers (Julius J. and Philip G.), Charles Hoffman and Catherine Turney has come a film which only serves to prove how far superior Mr. Barry was at turning a sharp, meaningful phrase. The scenarists have retained only the basic framework of the play and that they have modernized by bringing the action forward to 1939.
Note: The Animal Kingdom closed on Broadway in June 1932, so the reviewer must have a very long memory and assume that his readers have equally vivid recall.

Aha! You’ve got your “newspaper-connection-story” itch again! Ms Wyman, combined with Mr Hall yesterday, was my way into the mystery this week.
“One More Tomorrow” 1946
Monday – Jesse Graves is our redcap. He shows up (almost always a porter, a redcap, a butler or a waiter) in some favorites of mine.
Tuesday – our photographer leading lady, Ann Sheridan is behind the camera.
Wednesday – Thurston Hall in the middle, I think John Loder is the SOTHG on screen left and the “behind the drinking glass guy, drinking up” is Jack Carson.
Thursday – Ms Jane Wyman is sitting on the floor next to Reginald Gardiner (Gardner?)
We had a mystery movie with similar storyline a while back, I think with Leslie Howard. Don’t remember the title.
