One reason I posted this mystery film was because of the number of newsboy caps, like this one worn by our mysterious (not) guitarist.
And also because of this shot that begins at the 1:10-minute mark.

I never saw the movie, but as soon as I saw the 2nd photo in the radio station I knew it was David Carradine playing Woody Guthrie in Bound for Glory.
It’s funny how you know certain things about movies you’ve never even seen.
However, I had to check IMDB for the Harry Holcomb role.
