June 5, 1943: A nude (well almost) woman climbs onto a neon sign at 6th and Broadway. Beatrice Tucker was clearly ahead of her time.

    I normally ask for so little in a story — either a young lady in some state of undress, the prodigious use of alcohol, or a neon sign — but to be afforded all three? Beatrice Tucker, you plucky daredevil after my own heart! The question remains, though, which sign? As she was only two stories up I’m guessing she’d scaled the Swelldom blade? http://jpg1.lapl.org/pics17/00008028.jpg Hmmm.
