Steven Bibb, a member of the Daily Mirror’s Brain Trust, has graciously shared some of his pictures as mystery photos. Thanks Steven!
[Update: This mystery fellow was a toughy. Steven identifies him as Berry Kroeger from the film “The Iron Curtain.”]
[Update 2: Don Danard of the Brain Trust questions whether this is Berry Kroeger and says it’s Mauritz Hugo, who also appeared in “The Iron Curtain.” Reference photos are hard to find, but I would say Don is correct that this isn’t Kroeger, but is actually Hugo. Thanks Don!]
[Update 3: Steven says: There is no snipe on the back of the photo, just the handwritten name of the actor, “Berry Kreuger.” The front of the still says “A scene from the Twentieth Century-Fox Production “The Iron Curtain.” The still number is 720 – 31.]
I assume he once played David Niven’s brother.

He has the eyes and the disdainful lip of the distinguished Canadian actor, Raymond Massey. Though he has borrowed the mustache of Mr. Niven.

Gosh, he looks like Otto Kruger and Richard Hayden had a baby!

When I read “disdainful lip” I knew the writer must be our pal Mr. Bender. Great stuff. This photo is awesome. Part Warren William (the Jack Barrymore-lite actor), part Niven and part Who Knows.

Bengston’s post on Harold Lloyd and Broadway would go get with the Palace tour listing, particularly since the Theatre Historic Foundation lists them both together on their email blast.

Your Mystery Man is Mauritz Hugo.
Played a great heavy in features and serials.

Definitely NOT Berry Kroeger. These things are tough enough without wrong answers.

There’s a picture of Berry Kroeger at flixter com/actor/berry-kroeger and it’s definitely not the same man in the mystery photo

I think our mystery fellow may be Mauritz Stiller (not Hugo).

@Roget: The still is definitely from “The Iron Curtain.”

I was just going through some screencaps I have of Daisy Kenyon and recognized the guy who played Mr Ames as this mystery fellow, so I think this is Mauritz Hugo. In fact, I came here to make a guess only to find out I was beaten yet again!
You’re right that it’s not Berry Kroeger. I remember Berry from his small role in Atlantis: The Lost Continent, which I’ve seen more times than I should admit in public.
