Jan. 11, 1961: Paul Coates has the story of Richard, a man who has been battling drug addiction for years. He’s been out of jail for eight weeks. Still no job, but at least he is clean, Coates says. |

The recent snows in Santa Clarita have generated a huge family discussion about the snow storm that hit LA on January 11, 1949. Is there any chance that you could do a feature on the LA Times coverage on 1/12/1949? While the storm predates me, the older family members have different recollections of how much snow fell, whether the schools were closed for a snow day, etc. Would love to see what the Times said in its coverage of the storm.
