Here’s our mystery guest for the week. Last week’s mystery fellow was Michael Ansara and the weekend guest was Robert Mitchum’s brother John, who also performed as John Mallory.

There’s a new photo on the jump!

For Thursday, our mystery woman has a (totally not) mysterious companion. Please congratulate Vanessa Carey, Rosalyn and Chasmid for identifying her!

For Friday, our mystery gal has a mystery companion who seems to be quite upset. Please congratulate Lynne Levine, Rick, Ronald Emmis, Diane Ely and Cos for identifying her.

But wait. What’s this?! As several people noticed, something is wrong!

  Diane Baker

In 1970, The Times published this photo and said it was Diane Baker in “Nine Hours to Rama.”

  Diane Baker

Because that’s what the caption information said.

But it’s actually “Nine Hours to Rama” co-star Valerie Gearon!

  Diane Baker

  Los Angeles Times file photo

Because in “Nine Hours to Rama,” Diane Baker looks like this!

    Like

  76. Dewey Webb's avatar Dewey Webb says:

Realize it’s probably a moot point by now but woman in Friday’s mystery photo is almost certainly Nine Hours To Rama costar Valerie Gearon, not Diane Baker. Original publicity photo may well have been mislabeled by studio; though there is a certain resemblance, the woman with Horst Buchholz doesn’t facially look like Baker. In publicity shots from the film pictured on ebay, Baker’s character is pictured in traditional East Indian garb, while Gearon appears to be wearing Western hairstyle, jewelry, clothing of woman in Mystery Guest shot.
