Here’s this week’s mystery guest! Last week’s mystery was the apartment of William Desmond Taylor. The weekend mystery guest was Charles Vidor. There's a new picture on the jump! |

Please congratulate Carmen, Periwinkle, Dewey Webb, Jenny M, Mike Hawks, Bruce Long, LC ("Oh, too easy"), Barbara Klein, Karen, CandyC, Ronald Emmis and Vanessa Carey for identifying our mystery lady.
For Wednesday, our mystery woman has an (entirely not) mystery companion. I can’t figure out if this picture is a vertical or a horizontal. Either way, the pose looks uncomfortable. Please congratulate Pamela Porter, Bud, Sandy and RJ for identifying her!
Here’s our mystery woman with a stylishly dressed mystery companion. Please congratulate Pat in Michigan, Agatha Grafton and Lynne Levine for identifying her!

I heard from my friend Lois that it is Tisha Sterling, the daughter of Robert Sterling and Ann Sothern.

If the sidebar is any indication, it looks like everyone got this one, but I don’t have a clue. Wild guess: Susan Strasberg?

Still don’t know who the mystery lady is, but her male companion in the third photo looks like a very young and scruffy Michael Douglas.

Could the mystery lady be Michael Douglas’ first wife, Diandra (Luker) Douglas?

Are Pamela Porter, Bud and Sandy members of some sort of dolphin trivia cabal ? They all have same names as characters of the dad and two sons on Flipper (Porter, Bud & Sandy) . . .and all identify Mystery Gal same day. Fishy! Well, something to think about.

Haha, Dewey! No conspiracy here (are you Oliver Stone?)
PS – are you the same Dewey Webb who used to write this stuff:

If so, I LOVED those! Please bring them back (or the dolphin gets it!)

Again, if I had just watched “The Killer Inside Me” sooner, I might have gotten this. Considering how many times the Mystery Guest has been someone I JUST saw in a film, though, it’s doubtful I would have realized it even then.

The man in both of these pictures is Nick Buttle. Neither is Michael Douglas. Nick was Tisha Sterling’s boyfriend in the 70’s and lived in Topanga Canyon, California, off Old Topanga Road. I used to party out at his house every weekend for several years with Nick, Tisha, many friends, and my ex-wife Marilyn Vail, who lived in Nick’s guest house. We had great times there in those years. Nick Buttle disappeared in the ocean in the 90’s, I think, off Zuma Beach, California, while kayaking far off-shore. I personally believe he was the victim of a shark attack. As far as I know, his remains were never found nor any remains of the kayak.

The third image is indeed Michael Douglas, or M.K. Douglas, as he was calling himself at that time. It’s a publicity photo for “The Experiment.”
