    One of the most important reasons that I was a avid reader of the Los Angeles Times was to view Paul Conrad’s cartoons. In the era of the Nixon presidency, when the nation seemed to hover on the edge of a precipice, “Conrad” fought with his pen to bring us back to sanity.
    I have kept several of his cartoons which I had clipped from the paper, and they are among my very favorite souvenirs.
