A demonstration of why the Academy Awards, in the long view, are meaningless. “Kramer vs. Kramer” is in the dustbin of Hollywood History. The irony is that two of its competitors for Best Picture, “Apocalypse Now” and “All That Jazz”, are still compelling viewing, for their creativity and overall audacity.
