KFI Expects Big Ratings From Scully and the Dodgers

March 22, 1970: The Dodgers destroyed the Angels in radio ratings.

"KFI is salivating over the impending big ratings as Dodger baseball is back," wrote Don Page, The Times' radio columnist. "No personality or single program has ever increased listenership and ratings as Vin Scully and the Dodgers have done for KFI."

The news was not as cheery at the Angels' flagship station, KMPC.

"The Angel broadcasts do not accomplish much for the station," Page wrote.
