Feb. 28, 1962: Chic Johnson dies in Las Vegas at the age of 70. In a sidebar, Olsen quoted the farewell from their routine: “I said to the audience ‘May you live as long as you want’ and he would say ‘May you laugh as long as you live.’ I guess that was sort of our motto."

Olsen and Johnson! Ole Olsen is the one with the dark hair, Chic Johnson the rotund one with the lighter hair. The first picture looks like it’s from their film “Fifty Million Frenchmen,” and the behind-bars photo looks like it’s from one of their Universal features of the early ’40s.
