    Know what Gene Fowler was addressing re: Micky Rooney. In the early sixties, when I met him a few times, he was a roaring ego on a rage. So much talent, so much more insecurity.
    Knowing how he grew up, as a kid under the protection of a wonderful/terrible studio system, it is amazing that he survived any of it.
