The movie that was supposed to change the world by averting a nuclear holocaust is on Netflix. Holmes Alexander’s columns appeared in The Times from 1947 to 1963. His last piece in The Times was published in 1981. Alexander, an author of several books who was a friend of former President Richard Nixon, died Dec. 5, 1985, at the age of 79, but for some curious reason, The Times did not publish his obituary.
