Nov. 12, 1959: Charles Richard Gardner, 38, is found dead at his Pebble Peach home next to the bodies of his wife and two children in an apparent triple murder and suicide. Unfortunately, we don’t have the rest of the story, so there’s no explanation of Gardner’s connection to Richard Nixon.

I’m curious to know more about Jeane Hoffman. There could not have been very many female sportswriters on a metropolitan daily in the 1950’s (not that there are many today).
To further bust the stereotype, she covered boxing-very well I might add. Her writing and reporting holds up nicely.
Any idea what became of Ms. Hoffman?
