A lot of young folks today don’t even know what a “beatnik” was. Hippies, they’ve heard of. The newspaper city room in Jack Webb’s “–30–” is an almost exact copy of the old Examiner city room. So true-to-life it’s scary. Good stuff.

I was afraid when I clicked on the headline that this was a brand new story. I wondered what out-of-touch reporter was calling hippies beatniks. Fun stuff. Good post.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Drug prohibition was just as much of a waste of time (and worse) then as it is now.
