   This a very interesting letter, from what presumably is part of LAPD. One must wonder whether there is some element of retribution on the part of the police for this, since Christine Collins had an ongoing dispute with the police.
   It seems like Mrs. Collins’ perceptions of the situation differed vastly from those of the authorities. She may have seen her husband through rose colored glasses, although divorce probably had a great social stigma in those days.
   It is also interesting to ponder, whether by today’s standards, Walter would have been paroled. It seems in those days, justice was swifter, sentences were carried out to a fuller degree and probation was tougher to achieve.
   Once this series of letters is posted, I hope that you will also post information pertaining to the law suit between Mrs. Collins and the police officer who had her comitted to the psychiatric ward.
