    Solzhenitsyn was a lion. How many of us could have survived what he did, yet emerge with a poet’s eye and a world view?
    It begs the question of America would ever allow any of the inhabitants of its Gulag on the Isle of Cuba and other hidden places, the opportunity to get out and soar above the circumstances.
    There was a time, not too long ago, when we knew such abuses of freedom could only happen under under a repressive dictatorship. How I miss those times.
    Meanwhile, the lion will live forever in his prose.
