Earle Kynette in the Harry Raymond bombing … Note the brief on the lawsuit brought by former child star Jackie Coogan against his mother and stepfather over the money he made as a youngster …  Police officers capture cattle that escaped from the meatpacking plant on Macy Street (now Cesar Chavez). Humorous stories about police chasing (and sometimes killing) livestock in downtown Los Angeles were a staple of local newspapers at least through the 1940s … In an attempt to ease traffic congestion, the city widens and extends downtown streets.
