Found on EBay

Here’s a pretty little postcard I spotted on EBay. The building on the left is quite distinctive, although I can’t identify it. Maybe someone will recognize it. The photographer was looking north when he snapped this image of a day in early Los Angeles. Note the unpaved streets, two sets of streetcar tracks, all the horses and wagons, and the style of streetlights.

The photo is looking south on Main from Fourth Street. The large building on the left next to the distinctive building is the San Fernando, now lofts. The distinctive building was the old post office. That was replaced by the Alcazar Hotel, which is now a parking lot.
–You know, that would have been my guess (at least Main Street), but the mountains in the distance threw me off. Any ideas?

The view is north along Main Street from just below 3rd Street. The three story bay-windowed building on the far right corner of 3rd was the Gray Hotel, demolished when the jog was taken out of 3rd Street. The similar building on the near right corner of 3rd was the Hotel Florence, also long gone. The tall building to the left, on the southwest corner of 3rd, was the Citizens Bank Building, which I believe was still standing into the 1980s, at least. I think the building on the northwest corner is still standing, though it has long since had its upper floors lopped off.
