Dear Disenchanted … I’m going to take the high road here. I could say a lot of cynical, petty things by channeling Al Bundy, but that wouldn’t solve anything … OK, you can dump her and end up with someone else who has as many problems or you can try to address them with her. What’s important is not to keep trying to find someone who’s perfect (you never will) but to find someone who is willing to work on the challenges you’re going face. Until you resolve them, I suspect the Fire Department would be happier if he spent his weekends at some sports bar with his juvenile friends getting tanked and yelling at a big-screen TV.
