The Astrodome

I ran across this Jim Murray column and thought I’d share it. As published in The Times, April 29, 1965:

What a treat. Nobody wrote about sports like Jim Murray.

    Thanks.
It is uncommon that a sportswriter is really a writer and people read their articles not just because they can get game info., but for the articles themselves.
The way the radio show “Car Talk” is popular in NY, NY, where no one even bothers to own a car, who knew:o)
What was the L.A. field, that would compare to this Texas field, Jim Murray is describing, I mean from the same period?
Of course we had (and still have for some die-hards) Ebbets Field.
And even though Stengel once managed the Yankees, he sounds like a pretty sharp guy.
